The Joensuu City Orchestra with its 35 professional musicians is an energetic ensemble with a varied repertoire. On average, the orchestra gives 80 concerts in a season – one third of which are symphonic concerts. The repertoire also includes baroque, church, chamber and entertainment concerts as well as concerts for children and youngsters. The orchestra regularly visits local senior centers and alike institutions.

Orchestra’s home venue is the Carelia Hall at the university campus (Yliopistokatu 4). Occasionally, concerts also take place at Joensuu Evangelic-Lutheran church, Joensuu Arts Museum, concert hall of Joensuu conservatoire and Joensuu Areena.
