Update for Joensuu's web presence

Joensuu's website will be updated in early spring. Joensuu.fi is one of the city's key communication channels, with about 1.5 million visitors and more than 3 million page impressions per year. A poll among residents in spring 2018 suggested that, alongside newspapers, the website is among the most relevant channels for information about the city's services.

The website will get a clearer structure to provide a better presentation of the city's services and new developments. The new website will have a responsive design, improving the tablet and cell phone user experience.

Accessibility is key

Accessibility is key in the new design, with the most common reading devices catered for. Further aspects of accessibility include clarity of language and a reliable technical performance.

The new web pages have not been finished yet, and further development work focuses on aspects such as creating sub-pages for various target groups and city districts.

The new website will be published in early spring, in Finnish and English simultaneously. Swedish and Russian versions will also be available a little bit later.

The Finnish-language beta version is available at http://joensuu.fi.
