Business Joensuu, set up to promote private enterprise in Joensuu and North Karelia, started operations at the beginning of this year.

The entity is the result of a merger of Joensuun Tiedepuisto Oy and the regional development company Josek Oy.

Business Joensuu will provide a wide range of services for companies, the self-employed and investors. While Business Joensuu will support the start, growth and internationalisation of businesses, another key element will be cooperation – intensive networking and the sharing of information and knowhow.

– Our task is to listen to businesses and offer them the services they require. It is exciting to see what can be achieved by combining different business sectors and areas of knowhow, says Harri Palviainen, managing director of Joensuu Business.

Vacancies available

Currently Business Joensuu has vacancies for two service managers to deal with tenders for new business activities, internationalisation, and investor and establishment services.
Furthermore, they are looking for an expert in competitive tendering.
